HIP REPLACEMENT TOMORROW...I HOPE!

Wouldn't you know it....I have a bit of a cold!

It's one day before the big operation! Why me?
I've never even had a sniffle for about five years!

My friend Mary the nurse says that because they are giving me an epideral (?) that the operation will probably be a go!

OMG! You all know I've been waiting a year for this to happen! I'm packed, I've made loose fitting bottom to do the walking and therapy and now this!

So, I'm posting a flower in hopes that this brings me luck for tomorrow and besides, it's still in bloom in someone's garden in the area...How good is that?

So, hopefully this is my last post till I'm in better shape to sit here at the computer and send you little blog notes!

Wish me luck tomorrow!

Sending healing vibes Nanci to get rid of that cold. Nothing can stop this operation for you. It has been so long. Eat heaps of garlic today... Hubby might not want you breathing on him but it works for me. Not sure why I can't post a comment as normal but it's Karen at my fat quarter in New Zealand. Best Wishes

I was just thinking of you yesterday and wondered when the day was - I had lost track but knew it was coming up. I will be thinking of you and wishing your recovery well. You might not feel like blogging for awhile but a short blog post on your recovery will be something I'm sure we will all be looking for.

Hi Nanci. Eat lots of garlic today. That'll get rid of the cold and probably the husband hehe.. you'll have to sleep in the spare bed but hey if it means the operation goes ahead anything is worth it ah. My fingers are crossed and positive thoughts coming your way for a successful operation tomorrow. Karen in NZ

Hey Nanci,
Just got back from Kingston and reckon it's too late to call you. Get your beauty sleep tonight! Those nurses and doctors have no idea with whom they are dealing! Formidable and fearless Nanci is on her way - there will be no holding you back! Luv ya, Kiddo!

Here's wishing you have a speedy recovery ..in advance. Here is something you may like to know:

I learned that the patients are not allowed to cross their legs within one and half month of hip replacement surgery as this can lead to hip dislocation. Whether you are sitting on a chair or standing or reclining on a bed, never cross your legs at least during the vital six weeks after total hip replacement.

I hope things work out for you and you can have your new hip. Take care!

Sending you good healing - and hope we don't see you for a while (while you are recuperating from the surgery tomorrow).

I told my friend who had a new hip last year, about your surgery and she said it is the most wonderful thing in the world - in the whole universe. She was up and around in a surprisingly short time and adores her new hip - she calls is Al. LOL
