I'm missing summer today...it's my favourite all time thing in January.
Those of us that go to our little piece of paradise in the summer are beginning to count the days till then.
We have had a very cold few weeks, storms everywhere around us, so cold that it's too much to make the effort to go outside to even fetch the mail.
I'm missing the lazy days of the sun beaming down on the dock in the afternoon, having a chat with Helen about quilting, checking out how the "new" old neighbours are faring, and maybe having a glass of vino to round out the day...and Mary enjoying her retirement.
It's February, only 90 days to go.

How I'd love to jump right into that photo! Great Friday Favourite. Thanks for sharing. Hoping for warm weather soon. Happy FTF! :o)
Ninety days to go and counting.....love the quilt on the docks.
I love the quilt and the veiw is wonderful. I can understand why you love it and are ready for lazy summer days at the lake.
It helps so much to have something to look forward to, doesn't it?
I'll be happy for when the summer rolls around, too - can't wait to see your pictures!!! When is the earliest you can go?
Our groundhog here in Pennsylvania said an early spring - course, that's what he said last year, too!
keep your fingers crossed!
This time of year is so hard, isn't it? I don't mind winter too much but I'm longing for spring and summer as well. That picture is soooo beautiful. I've always wanted a home on the lake but instead, I have a very nice one in a cornfield. LOL
Me as well! It will not be too long before we are back at the lake. Bought a hat in Florida for the 2nd Annual Pot-Luck Long Island Dinner. Not as spectacular as last year's (the hat that is) but I do like it. Can hardly wait.
:)

We are in the lazy days of summer at the moment. Though this year has not been as hot as usual, but the last week has been monstrous and we went from mid 20's to 42C overnight was a bit much to bare and the end of the week has been humid because of the Cyclone in Queensland affecting our weather. I am lucky enough to live by the beach so a trip to the beach is 2 minutes away from home and it happens often.
Nanci, I love your posts from the cottage and even I'm missing the fact you arent there !
It'll come quick enough - and about the same time Im having a grizzle about our weather turning cold.
I'm going to be selfish for a little bit longer and hold onto summer here for the full 90 days. Sorry!
Never mind Nanci, you will be there before you know it.....even though 90 days seems a lot! I will be glad to give up summer this year.
I'm in the middle of summer here and you even had me wishing for what you described. The photo is just beautiful and I'm with Larri I just want to jump into the photo.
I've had enough of my summer so more than happy for you to have it! Not that I wish you floods, cyclones etc, but some sun and blue skies and warmth.
No wonder that is your favourite - it would be mine if we had a cabin by the lake/sea.
I'm missing summer too, really bad. We woke up to four inches of snow today here in Fort Worth, as if ice on the ground all week wasn't bad enough. I hate cold weather! I moved from Wisconsin to get away from this crap.
Dreaming of summer,

Beautiful picture, so blue and serene. I'm ready to ditch the below freezing temps and the snow!
What a lovely photo. It sure makes you want to feel that sun on your face, a cool drink in your hand and your toes in the water off the dock. Ahhhh! and then I look outside. Drat!
Sounds wonderful .. where is your cottage?
That's a fantastic photo! I'd love to have something like that as my desktop background to remind me of warmer, sunnier days to come.
I'm beginning to long for the warm days of summer too. Good thing I'm getting old.....Mom always said the older you get the quicker time goes LOL.
Crispy
I love that picture. I bet it is so much better in person. I love the new look.
Lovely photo. "When Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?"
