FAVOURITE THINGS FRIDAY....LITTLE HINTS.

I love to organize things.  Especially in the kitchen.  I do it because I hate to move around too much looking for things when creative juices flow (sic).

Anyway, I've collected over the years, lazy susans that I've picked up at good will or sally anne stores.

I put one in the fridge on the top shelf for keeping mustards, relishes, jams and jars or some such that I can reach with just the touch of a spin.

On another shelf I have this place which stores, salt and pepper shakers, along with the sugar and butter which is just above the coffee
pot for ease of use in the mornings.

Now, the spice one is double as it can hold so much of the spices that we all use in our daily lives.  This is probably one that everyone has.  I also, if you note have a little jar on the top shelf which I saved from a jam jar.  This one has the spice cans in alphabetical order, again for ease
of use.

Just above the spice rack is this one which has the too tall things.  Again, self explanatory.

I do try to keep all baking items together as most of us do.

Finally, the sugar storage is a used
coffee can.  When anyone needs the
sugar they can see it plainly.  Need I mention who would not know where the sugar is after all these years?

Anyway, I love reorganizing the shelves.  I always have done this and at the cottage where I have much smaller space to work with I have a large lazy susan under the counter
which, as you can imagine has small
susans on that one too!

After watching me play with the camera in the kitchen, and not getting a treat...the dog Quincey collapsed!

Me?  I'm late again for posting on Fridays as I don't know where the time goes when I'm basically doing
nothing, except knitting socks although I did go look at my sewing today....yep, it's all still there!

My hubby would love you. My cupboards look nothing like yours missed out on the tidy gene.

I've got lazy susans in the spice and vitamin cupboards, but hadn't thought to put them in the fridge. What a great idea!

Great hint Nanci. I have a HUGE lazy Susan laying around somewhere and may have to give this a go in my pantry! I'd never seen a double lazy Susan before. I wonder if Ikea sell them . That's where I got my single one from ...

Keep the hints coming!

You teased Quincey deliberately. You know it- the dog knows it- and I know it.

Great idea about the lazy susans - might keep an eye out for some myself! I wonder who Susan was?

Okay, someone keeps your house spotless - so you're obviously doing something!

And, aren't you just the smartest - putting condiments on a lazy susan in your refrigerator! genius!

Thanks so much for sharing this!

I have no lazy susans, but wish I did! You are so organized! Love it! Can you come play at my house? ;o) I'm going to look for some lazy susans now. Great favourite! Thanks for sharing. Happy FTF! :o)

I'm afraid even lazy susans wouldn't help my "you know who" find a darn thing. I keep my cupboards neat and tidy too but heaven forbid if I ask him to get a new bottle of something out of the pantry closet. I think they were never taught to open their eyes when looking for something LOL.

Egads and you call me OCD! Your cupboards et al, are visual jewels. Do you suppose that lazy susans would help me organize my pantry or is it beyond redemption? Somehow I think that my "dozens" (according to your Sweetie) of wooden spoons would not be helped. Great to see you back! Come more frequently. We don't need to hear about quilts only, your musings are always fun.

I am also fairly organized. Everything in the kitchen is in some kind of a tupperware container with labels on it. I even labeled every stuff in my sewing room, cause i was sick and tired of searching for m stuff. Now I have everything organized, but cannot find the time to sew....please, where can I find my time??

I hadn't heard from you in ages and then realized I had not seen your blog in awhile - somehow you got knocked off of my google reader and I had not seen your posts in over a month - talk about having too many on my reader!! I have added myself as a follower to you and maybe now I will be alerted once more to when you post.

I have a giant over-the-pantry-door shelving unit in which I keep my spices in alphabetical order so I can find them more easily. You are a kindred spirit!
